Meet the Progressive Grocer Editorial Team 

Gina Acosta

Gina Acosta is the editor-in-chief of Progressive Grocer. She has covered the retail and CPG industries for various business publications since 2014. Previously Gina was a writer and editor for the Tampa Bay Times. She served on the editorial board of the Washington Post and as an assistant editor there for more than 13 years. Gina has also worked for the Hartford Courant, Tallahassee Democrat, and Miami Herald. In 2006, she was awarded the Nieman Fellowship for Journalism at Harvard University, where she spent more than a year studying retail, agribusiness and teaching journalism. She earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from Florida A&M University and an MBA from the University of Tampa.

Bridget, Progressive Grocer

Bridget Goldschmidt is the managing editor at Progressive Grocer. With nearly two decades of experience at PG, Bridget has covered major food industry developments on key topics, including government affairs, mergers and acquisitions, category trends, e-commerce, health and wellness, corporate responsibility, and the ongoing transformation of the world of food retailing and foodservice. She has been quoted in The New York Times and other prestigious publications nationwide for her observations on the grocery business. Bridget is also instrumental in planning and executing PG’s long-running Top Women in Grocery (TWIG) event

Lynn Petrak, Progressive Grocer

Lynn Petrak is senior editor at Progressive Grocer and a veteran of the food retailing industry with nearly 30 years of experience. She is well-versed in all aspects of the industry and has also contributed to brands including Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, Meat & Poultry, Dairy Field, Farm to Plate, Refrigerated & Frozen Foods Retailer and Store Brands. Lynn held also key communications roles with dairy and beef trade associations. In addition, she has taught journalism classes and earned a journalism degree from Northern Illinois University in 1991. Additionally, Lynn is a frequent moderator for PG's TWIG Podcast

Marian Zboraj, Progressive Grocer

Marian Zboraj has more than 20 years of experience as an editor covering various industries in B2B publishing, such as industrial manufacturing, vision care and nutraceuticals. She’s spent the last 10-plus years specifically working in the food industry, including at John Wiley & Sons’ food quality and safety title, and at The Food Institute. She currently serves as Progressive Grocer's digital editor, overseeing the publication’s daily online editorial operations, newsletter creation and social media platforms. Marian earned her bachelor's degree in English/journalism from Montclair State University in New Jersey.

Emily Crowe, Progressive Grocer

Emily Crowe is the multimedia editor for Progressive Grocer. She over a decade of writing/editing experience in the food industry and previously served as a food and beverage editor at SmartBrief. Emily has also written for the Specialty Food Association, Technomic and the Clovis News Journal, and worked in editorial at Laptop Magazine and American Way Magazine. Emily graduated from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Additionally, Emily is a frequent moderator for PG's TWIG Podcast
