Albertson's Names Robert Dunst Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
BOISE, Idaho - Albertson's Inc. announced today that Robert Dunst will join the company as executive vice president and chief technology officer. The company said that under Dunst's leadership, it aims to be the technology leader in food and drug retailing.
Dunst, 41, will report directly to Larry Johnston, Albertson's chairman and CEO, and will serve as a member of the company's executive committee. His responsibilities will include oversight of the company's entire technology function, including information, process and communication.
Dunst is a 25-year veteran of the grocery and drug store industry. For the past six years he worked for Safeway Inc., where he held senior leadership roles as vice president - applications development, vice president ? advanced technology, and director - systems architecture and infrastructure.
Previously Dunst served in key information technology leadership roles at American Stores, Food 4 Less Supermarkets, and General Grocer Corp. In addition, early in his career, he held various operational roles at store level, including department manager and store director.
