Aldi To Close Distribution Center, Bakery In Iowa
BURLINGTON, Iowa -- In a move that is expected to eliminate about 90 jobs, Aldi is closing its distribution center here and moving it to Faribault, Minn., according to local reports.
Aldi is selling its Mississippi Bakery in downtown Burlington, cutting about 80 jobs. Workers at the distribution center -- but not the bakery -- will be offered the chance to move to Minnesota.
Based in Germany, Aldi has nearly 800 stores in the United States, as well as in Australia and Europe.
