All Big Y Pharmacies Now Open Sundays

Big Y Foods Inc. has opened the rest of its pharmacy and wellness center locations on Sundays. Previously, 27 of the supermarket chain’s 39 pharmacies had Sunday business hours.

As of Jan. 8, the following 12 locations are open on Sundays, mainly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., although hours may vary by store: Adams, Palmer, Northampton, Southwick and Walpole, Mass.; and Bethel, East Windsor, Mansfield, North Branford, Norwich, Stratford and Torrington, Conn.

“Our professional and trusted pharmacists will now be accessible to their patients on Sundays in all of our pharmacy stores,” noted Nicole D’Amour Schneider, director of pharmacy at Springfield, Mass.-based Big Y. “We are excited to be able to provide our customers with the convenience and availability of all of our pharmacy services seven days a week in each of our locations.”

One of the largest independently owned supermarket chains in New England, Big Y operates 77 locations throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut: 70 supermarkets, 39 of which have pharmacies; Fresh Acres Market; Table & Vine Fine Wines and Liquors; and five Big Y Express gas and convenience locations throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts, with more than 11,000 employees.
