A&P Banners Backing Home & Garden Show
Waldbaum's, The Food Emporium, and A&P, all banners of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc., will sponsor the Spring 2008 Hamptons Home & Garden Show next month, the show introduces homeowners and industry professionals to over 200 vendors of such products as cabinetry, spas, flooring, home theaters, kitchen accessories, and luxury lifestyle products..
As part of the sponsorship, all Waldbaum's, The Food Emporium, and A&P Valued Shoppers Club Card holders will receive free admission to the eastern Long Island event. Show attendees will also be able to enter a raffle for the chance to win a $2,500 shopping spree at any one of the A&P banner stores. The raffle proceeds will benefit the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc.
Additionally, the Southampton Waldbaum's will cater parties in the VIP tent on the evenings of Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. Friday's VIP tent will offer organic seafood and wine, while Saturday evening will spotlight domestic and imported cheeses and fresh-baked breads, along with a wide assortment of wines. All of the food to be featured at both parties is available at Waldbaum's.
The event, now in its third year, is being held May 2 to May 4 at Southampton's Elks Lodge Fairgrounds in Southampton, N.Y.
On May 3, Waldbaum's will host "Outdoor Entertaining with Organic Foods," featuring A&P's seafood expert Joe D'Alessandro, and sommelier Josh Wesson, founder of Best Cellars, which is the newest A&P retail brand, which the grocer bought in late 2007.
The grocer was a sponsor of last year's Home & Garden Show as well.
Montavle, N.J.-based A&P operates 456 stores in six states and the District of Columbia under the banners A&P, Pathmark, Waldbaum's, The Food Emporium, Super Foodmart, SuperFresh, and Food Basics.
