A&P Offers ‘Build Your Own’ Antipasto Program
This weekend, 150 select A&P, SuperFresh, Waldbaum’s and Pathmark stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland will feature the new “Build Your Own” antipasto Program, which allows shoppers to choose from among such traditional Italian delicacies as cured deli meats, hard and soft cheeses, and marinated vegetables.
The sampling event, which takes place on March 27 and March 28, will offer items from well-known vendors including Capatriti, Victoria, Mezzetta, Rienzi, Ronzoni and Sorrento. After tasting the tempting wares on display, shoppers can then buy featured items to design their own personalized antipasto platters for home or office use.
Antipasto (“before the meal”) is a traditional Italian plate that usually consists of an assortment of thinly sliced salami, prosciutto, capicola, mortadella and other cured meats and a variety of artisan cheeses such as mozzarella and provolone, complemented by marinated vegetables and fresh-baked bread. All of these authentic items are available at A&P’s supermarket banners, making party planning a snap, the Montvale, N.J.-based operator noted.
