Australia's Foodland Completes Purchase Of Woolworths New Zealand
SYDNEY - Australia-based Foodland Associated Ltd. said today it has completed its acquisition of Woolworths New Zealand.
"Settlement took place following further discussions with Hong Kong-based Dairy Farm International and the lifting on Friday of the injunction obtained by Foodstuffs," Foodland said in a statement. Foodstuffs is the largest supermarket group in New Zealand.
"Our legal advice is that we will be able to successfully resist any further attempts to undo the transaction," Foodland managing director Trevor Coates said.
