Bashas' Teams With Shamrock Farms for Breast Cancer Awareness
Bashas' and Shamrock Farms are "going pink" to support cancer research center City of Hope through a chain-wide fundraiser in which the retailer will sell pink reusable bags, paper pink ribbons, and signature City of Hope pins.
The grocer's 74 under the Bashas' banner are selling limited edition, pink reusable bags for $1.49 while supplies last, and will donate 100 percent of the pink bag sales to City of Hope for breast cancer research, treatment, and education.
"These pink bags are popular," said Kristy Nied, dir. of communications for Bashas'. "Some of our stores sold out of them within hours. It's a great sign that women in our community are committed to joining the fight against breast cancer."
Additionally, Bashas' stores are selling paper pink ribbons for $1, which can be personalized in honor of a friend, family member, or loved one. And beginning October 6, Bashas' shoppers will be able to purchase City of Hope pins for $2 to show their support.
Bashas' is hoping to contribute more than $50,000 to City of Hope efforts, with $37,250 coming directly from the sale of Bashas' and Shamrock Farms' pink reusable bags.
Bashas' operates more than 160 stores in Arizona under the banners of Bashas', Ike's Farmers Market, Food City, and AJ's Fine Foods.
