Bi-Lo Helps Pet Parents ‘Feed the Love’
Through Tuesday, April 30, Bi-Lo is hosting its fourth annual PAWS “Feed the Love” campaign. The pet food drive raises donations for area food banks so that needy families can feed their animals.
During the campaign, shoppers can buy a $5 bag of pet food with a My Bi-Lo Bonuscard, and the item will be picked up by, or delivered to, the store’s food bank partner. The bag contains a week’s worth of dry and canned packages of PAWS Premium, Bi-Lo’s own brand of cat and dog food.
Nationally, about 7 million pets are given up to shelters annually because the owners can’t afford food. Since 2010, Feed the Love has provided more than 85 tons of pet food for families in need throughout the chain’s operating market.
“It is important to us that we provide opportunities such as this for our customers to assist members of their community who face the difficult decision of feeding themselves or their pets,” noted Mike Russell, category manager for the Mauldin, S.C.-based grocer. “Bi-Lo cares about the wellbeing of our community, and ‘Feed the Love’ is about giving back to pets that also go hungry.”
Additionally, for every bag purchased, Bi-Lo customers will get an additional 5 cents per gallon in fuelperks! Rewards, a program that enables customers to save money on gas when they buy groceries.
Under the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie banners, Bi-Lo employs 63,000 associates at 686 grocery stores and 484 in-store pharmacies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
