Bi-Lo Lowers Prescription Drug Prices
Concerned about how its shoppers are faring in this down economy, Bi-Lo Supermarkets has slashed prices for over 400 generic prescription drugs. The grocer now offers commonly prescribed drugs at $4 for a 30-day supply and $10 for a 90-day supply.
Among the medications covered by the program are those that treat such common health issues as high cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, heart disease and skin conditions. A complete list of participating generic drugs is available at www.bi-lo.com.
"Bi-Lo is always looking for ways to make life easier for customers, and this program is not only simple, it could, in some cases, literally be a lifesaver as people struggle to make ends meet," noted pharmacy director Curtis Hardin.
To take part in the free program, Bi-Lo customers will need a Bonuscard, to which a special sticker will be added.
The company joins such grocery retailers as Wegmans, Weis Markets and Albertsons, LLC in offering customers lower-cost generic drugs.
Mauldin, S.C.-based Bi-Lo operates 215 supermarkets in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
