Big Y Store Ups Offerings
The Meriden, Conn., Big Y World Class Market at 533 South Broad Street is the latest of the grocer's stores to add new lunch and dinner options, in addition to several other gluten-free and organic items.
With just a small investment – less than $100,000 – the location is bringing in more fresh foods such as custom-made sandwiches, hot and cold soups, and fresh-fried jumbo chicken tenders, all available at the store’s full-service sandwich shop.
The 679 newly added natural and organic items run the gamut from beverages and milk substitutes to condiments, snacks, health and beauty care, and cleaning supplies. Further, the location’s 355 gluten-free selections now include a range of frozen foods, while bulk natural and organic granolas, grains, oats, nuts, seeds, and rice make it easy to purchase just what’s needed.
Warm Welcome
Meriden Big Y World Class Market Store Director Ben Cardwell said that "we know that our Meriden area customers will appreciate [the additions]. They've already tried some new items and are looking forward to many more."
