BJ’s Wholesale Looking to Enter Pittsburgh Market: Report
BJ’s Wholesale Club is currently seeking locations in the Pittsburgh area, according to a published report, citing “a half-dozen” local real estate sources.
“We’re very fortunate right now to be one of the few retailers seeing positive results,” BJ’s spokeswoman Kelly McFalls told the Pittsburgh Business Times, although she wouldn’t confirm the company’s Pittsburgh expansion plans. BJ currently operates 13 stores in eastern Pennsylvania and six in Ohio.
The publication reported that BJ’s was looking for as many as three locations ranging in size from 71,000 to 115,000 square feet.
If BJ’s does come to the Pittsburgh market, however, it will face warehouse club competitors Sam’s Club and Costco, who are already well established in the area, the publication noted.
