Brookshire's Banks $70K for Texas Children's Advocacy Centers
Brookshire Grocery Co. donated $70,000 to the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, as a result of the Tyler-based grocer's 26th annual Benefit Golf Tournament, hosted last April.
The donation will be split equally between 14 Children’s Advocacy Centers in Brookshire's statewide operating areas.
“The BGC Benefit Golf Tournament is one of our largest fundraising efforts, and it allows us to partner with our vendors and other business associates each year in support of a very worthy cause – helping children and their families,” said Brookshire's President/CEO Rick Rayford.
Proceeds from the tournament totaled more than $450,000 and was distributed to 50-plus children’s charities and programs throughout the grocer's three-state footprint. Since its inception, the Benefit Golf Tournament has raised more than $3.8 million.
Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 152 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, with three distribution centers and five manufacturing facilities.
