Brown’s Super Stores Welcomes Chickie’s & Pete’s

Brown’s Super Stores, a Westville, N.J., operator of 10 ShopRite supermarkets in the Philadelphia area, now features a Chickie’s & Pete’s Express restaurant in its ShopRite of Brooklawn store in N.J. The May 29 grand opening attended by Brooklawn Mayer Teri Branella (second from left in photo), will mark the restaurant chain’s first location within a supermarket.

Chickie’s & Pete’s Express offers more than 20 fresh seafood items, including its signature World Famous Crabfries, Bread Dippin’ Good Crabs, mussels in red or white sauce, crab cakes, chicken cutlets and crab pretzels. Items come in single-portion sizes, or family-style/catering sizes appropriate for family dinners or parties. Customers can also eat in the in-store Chickie’s & Pete’s sports café.

“This partnership provides us with a unique opportunity to expand the Chickie’s & Pete’s brand and also focus on the growing catering side of the business,” said Pete Ciarrocchi, chairman and CEO of Philadelphia-based Chickie’s & Pete’s, which began in 1977 and now has locations across Philly and New Jersey.
