Buehler’s to Buy Portage Lakes IGA

Buehler’s Fresh Foods plans to acquire the Portage Lakes IGA, and said it will continue the IGA store’s tradition of strong service and products.

“Our focus is on customers and the assurance that they continue to receive the same service and products they have come to expect at Portage Lakes IGA,” stated Bob Buehler, VP of marketing and merchandising for Buehler’s.

Bill Anthony, owner of Portage Lakes IGA, added, “Customers will see no changes in the store’s hours or offerings while the sale of our store to Buehler’s is being finalized.”

Dan Shanahan, Buehler’s COO, expects the deal to close by the end of July. “We are looking forward to meeting all the Portage Lakes employees the week of June 24th,” he said.

Following successful negotiations, a formal announcement is expected in August.

Buehler’s Fresh Foods is owned and operated by E&H Family group with stores located in the Ohio towns of Wooster, Orrville, Wadsworth, Medina, Brunswick, Ashland, New Philadelphia, Dover, Jackson Township, Delaware and Coshocton.
