Cirelli Foods Names Jay Cirelli President and C.E.O.
MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. -- Cirelli Foods, one of New England's largest-family owned broadline foodservice distributors and owner of the 17,000-square-foot Cirelli Marketplace retail operation, has named Jay Cirelli president and c.e.o.
Recent past president and c.e.o. Ray LeBlanc, who was with the company for more than eight years, is leaving to join the senior management team at Perkins Paper Inc. in Taunton, Mass.
Cirelli, who has worked for the company for more than 38 years, most recently served as e.v.p. and has hands-on experience with all aspects of the business.
Jay Cirelli noted in a statement: "Cirelli's profitable growth from $34 million in sales in 1997 to our present sales target of $78 million this year, is a goal we are on track to meet. Our short-term objective is to continue to improve the profitability of the company while ascending to $100 million in sales."
In other executive moves at the company, David Bailey has been appointed s.v.p., with responsibility for managing the sales growth of the company, along with promotion and marketing of Cirelli Foods. Bailey's 26-year career in the industry encompasses experience in all areas of sales and marketing. He has worked as an executive chef, district sales representative, district sales manager, v.p. of sales, and regional president of a $250 million national foodservice company.
Reaching over 2,500 customers in the Northeast, Cirelli Foods services such customers as independent restaurants, multichain units, schools, health care facilities, nonprofits, and other foodservice operations. The company's retail division, Cirelli Marketplace, offers a wide selection of name-brand foods, paper goods, and beer and wine to both foodservice customers and the general public.
