Cub is Exclusive Grocer for 2005 Minnesota State Fair
STILLWATER, Minn. -- Cub Foods will once again partner with the Minnesota State Fair as the event's exclusive grocery retailer and exclusive ticket outlet in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.
From July 24 through Aug. 24, participating Cub Foods stores will offer Minnesota State Fair advance gate admission tickets, advance Midway and Kidway ride and game tickets, and Blue Ribbon Bargain Books. With an average attendance of more than 1 million visitors each year, the Minnesota State Fair is a time-honored tradition that is the essential Minnesota summer experience.
In addition to being the exclusive grocery retailer and ticket outlet, Cub will also provide exclusive sponsorship to the food building and grocery store in the Little Farmhands exhibit, a hands-on education attraction that allows children ages 3 to 12 to experience the agricultural process -- beginning at the farm and ending at the grocery store. The Cub Foods grocery store is the final step in the agricultural process, where children have the opportunity to use the money that they made from their crops to "buy" their finished product. Cub will provide grocery bags and Cub canned vegetables.
The Minnesota State Fair food building will also enjoy Cub Foods' support again in 2005, with signs that will direct fairgoers to the newly renovated building, where they can enjoy a new year of tantalizing and innovative State Fair treats.
Cub Foods, one of the first discount food stores in the country, established the original concept of "Consumers United for Buying" in 1968. In 1980 Supervalu bought Cub Foods and expanded it from five stores to 52 stores in the Twin Cities.
