Cub Foods Helps Shoppers Stretch Their Valentine's Day Celebration Bucks
In seeking to help shoppers splurge on their sweeties without breaking the bank on Valentine's Day, Cub Foods is reminding them that it has everything they need -- "from a floral bouquet that is sure to impress [to] a steak and seafood dinner you can prepare at home that will rival local steakhouse fare."
Among its Valentine's Day floral items, Cub is offering one dozen floral-shop quality roses for just $19.68 and two tulip bunches -- the latter being the second best-selling flower on Feb. 14 -- for just $9, among other items.
The Stillwater, Minn.-based Supervalu subsidiary is also promoting a Surf & Turf dinner for two under $50 that features Rancher's Preferred Black Angus New York Strip Steak and a fresh lobster tail, Atlantic salmon or shrimp, fresh veggies and bakery bread, and a Culinary Circle frozen dessert.
As in years past, Cub stores will also feature a "Lover's Lane" -- a fully decorated checkout aisle devoted exclusively to Valentine's Day items such as flowers, cards, plush toys, candy and balloons.
