EPA Administrator to Keynote GMA Environmental Summit
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) said yesterday that Stephen L. Johnson, administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, will keynote the trade association's first-ever Environmental Sustainability Summit for the Food, Beverage and Consumer Products Industry in Washington, D.C., January 17-18, 2008.
The unprecedented event will gather senior leaders from industry, government, academia, and non-governmental organizations to define a shared vision for a sustainable industry, GMA said. The conference will also build partnerships across sectors to facilitate sustainability programs; and provide attendees with a sustainability toolkit.
The program also includes addresses by: Peter Seligmann, co-Founder, chairman and c.e.o. of Conservation International; Dan Esty, director of the Yale Center for Environmental Law and best-selling author of Green to Gold ; and Dr. Lester Lave, Higgins Professor of Economics and University Professor, Carnegie Mellon University.
