EPA Opens Application Process for 2003 Energy Star Awards
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is now accepting applications for its 2003 Energy Star Awards, which recognize organizations that demonstrate leadership in energy management. Food Lion and BJ's Wholesale Club both took the prize in 2002 in the retail category.
To be eligible for the awards, a company must be an Energy Star partner. Companies still have a chance to sign up as partners before year's end, according to spokesperson Sarah Lines. Applications and more information are available on the Energy Star Web site at www.energystar.gov/awards. All applications must be postmarked by Dec. 16, 2002.
The EPA will honor winners at the Energy Star Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 15, 2003.
