Ex-Brown's ShopRite Exec Joins 'Marcom' Agency
Grocery industry figure Steve Brown, who formerly held a position in operations management at Brown's ShopRite, his family's supermarket chain in the Philadelphia area, has joined marketing and communications firm the Star Group as managing partner/e.v.p., business management.
Additionally, Brown will manage Star's growing Equity Group, which was formed to establish a potential equity position in Star clients, and can provide the availability of capital for expansions or new product launches through its partnership with Austin Capital in New York.
Brown brings to his new position an extensive background in such areas as marketing and advertising, emerging food and trends analysis, inventory management, financial forecasting, and new grocery store product and service development.
Brown will also serve as one of the leaders of Star's Food and Beverage Division. In this role, he will help manage work for such brands and agency clients as Margaritaville Foods, Coca-Cola, Saladworks, Louisiana Fish Fry, Village Farms, and Catelli Italian Bistro.
The Star Group has offices in Philadelphia and Ft. Washington, Pa.; Cherry Hill and Morristown, N.J.; Wilmington, Del.; Kansas City; and Las Vegas.
