Farm Boy Opens Ninth Store, With a Difference
OTTAWA, Ont. -- Farm Boy Inc. is opening its ninth location today, at the Blue Heron Mall here. The 16,000-square-foot store is providing 100 new jobs in the area.
This latest opening brings Farm Boy's total to eight Ottawa locations and one Cornwall, Ont. store. A tenth store is scheduled to open in the Kanata Signature Centre in Ottawa in summer 2007.
"It's quite different from our newer stores," noted Farm Boy president Donny Milito in a statement. "It's a little smaller than the others, but we're really pleased and excited with the layout of the store. In addition to our produce, meat, and bakery departments, which customers expect from Farm Boy, the Farm Boy Kitchen is one of the store's highlights. It boasts the culinary talents of Chef Bryan Jones and his staff, who will cook gourmet foods fresh daily to be sold on a takeout basis."
Farm Boy carries produce, meat, bakery deli, and dairy product offerings, in addition to a line of value-priced but high-quality private label items.
