FMI to Launch ‘Future Connect’ Next May
In an effort to address the "biggest challenge facing the food industry" -- recruiting and developing the next generation of management talent -- the Food Marketing Institute will launch Future Connect, a new leadership development conference, next May.
The 2009 conference will mark the first year FMI will hold a conference-only program instead of a trade show/educational combo. Future Connect was created by FMI's board of directors and an advisory council of key supplier trading partners, according to the Arlington, Va.-based trade group.
The event was designed to help build the next generation of industry leaders through three tracks: personal skills, management skills, and profit-building skills.
It will be held May 4-6, 2009 in Dallas at the Dallas Convention Center.
For now, FMI is gearing up for its 2008 FMI Show plus Marketechnics, which will be held May 5-7, 2008 in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay.
