Food Lion Launches ‘Thriller on the Griller at the Beach’ Events
Food Lion hosted its 12th annual “Thriller on the Griller at the Beach” event on June 13 at its store on South Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, S.C., to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN-H) in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Other Thriller on the Griller events will be held at select beach-based Food Lion stores through July 4. The grocery chain’s customers can support CMN-H by purchasing lunch donated by vendors, or by bidding on bicycles, golf bags, autographed memorabilia and other items during a silent auction.
“Food Lion offers Thriller on the Griller events as a fun and creative way for our customers to support children and their families who receive medical care from local CMN hospitals,” said Joe Stock, the banner’s director of operations and event organizer. “Last year, our vendors, customers and associates helped us to raise more than $135,000 for local CMN hospitals. We are hoping to raise $150,000 this year through these family-friendly summer events.”
Food Lion has supported CMN Hospitals since 1991, raising more than $45 million to fund critical research and supplement medical care for millions of children.
