Food Lion Shuffles 5 VPs

SALISBURY, N.C -- Food Lion said yesterday that it was shifting five of its vice presidents into new leadership roles within the company, as part of an ongoing strategy to provide its executives corporate with "cross-functional development opportunities," and thus enhance its own pool of organizational knowledge and experience.

Food Lion named Scott Harrison to the position of v.p. of retail operations for the Central Division; he had been v.p. of retail operations in the company's Southern Division.

Geoff Waldau has been named v.p. of retail operations in the Southern Division; he was previously v.p. of merchandising services.

Lewis Campbell has moved to the role of v.p. of merchandising services; his previous position was v.p. dry category. Robert Canipe, in turns has become v.p. of dry category management, moving from his previous position as marketing's v.p. of business strategy.

In human resources, Bonnie Moore has been named v.p. associate relations. She was previously v.p. of human resources - organizational development.

Food Lion LLC, a subsidiary of Brussels-based Delhaize Group, operates more than 1,200 supermarkets, either directly or through affiliated entities, under the names of Food Lion, Bloom, Bottom Dollar Food, Harveys, and Reid's.
