FreshDirect Delivers 5 Millionth Order
LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. -- FreshDirect here said yesterday that it had delivered its milestone 5 millionth order -- a milestone for the online grocer, which made its first delivery in September 2002.
On its first day the company delivered 19 orders. Today it serves over 250,000 customers and delivers several thousand orders each day. As well as delivering to most areas of New York City, FreshDirect expands its service on a regular basis, and today delivering to many locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester County, the Hamptons, Long Island, and parts of New Jersey.
