Fujitsu Targets Independents with New POS System
Fujitsu America yesterday launched its TeamPoS 3600 family of point-of-sale (POS) systems, developed to be a scalable hardware system that can be custom-configured to meet a retailer’s cost and performance needs.
“With the TeamPoS 3600 system, we’ve expanded the breadth of our TeamPoS 3000 family to include a scalable solution that meets the needs of the SMB retailer market,” said Michelle DuBreuil, strategic marketing manager for store technology at the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based vendor. “By offering the systems through our channel partners, we’ll ensure that retailers not only have a robust, custom-configured system, but will also receive the value-added services our partners provide.”
The TeamPoS 3600 family includes four basic models with varying processor speeds, and features include:
--Long-Term Performance: Offers desktop architecture and a lifecycle-managed platform based on the Intel embedded roadmap for the longest product service life
--System Scalability/Flexibility: Intel processors range from Celeron to Core 2 Duo processors. This, combined with a wide range of memory options, a variety of I/O board modules, and several PCI expansion capabilities, are designed for future upgrades as business requirements become more demanding
Serviceability: Components are easy to replace, according to Fujitsu, and can be accessed without tools, for ease of maintenance and increased uptime
--Open Architecture Platform: Lowers development costs for new and existing systems through compliance with industry-standard operating systems, POS/JPOS, PC tools and utilities and I/O interfaces
--Environmental Compliance: Meets RoHS and WEEE compliance standards
--Advanced Manageability: SmartPoS Manager from Fujitsu, in conjunction with Intel vPro/AMT technology, provides controller and POS peripheral diagnostics, monitoring, and asset management
