Giant-Carlisle, Martin's Raise $1.75M for Children's Miracle Network
Giant Food Stores, LLC and Martin's Food Markets once more teamed with customers, associates, and vendors on two annual events for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN), resulting in a combined $1.75 million raised for area children's hospitals.
The campaign's take was the Ahold USA's highest to date, according to Giant Food v.p., advertising and marketing Denny Hopkins.
Giant and Martin's customers were able to donate $1 to purchase a paper balloon for CMN at checkout from June 15 through June 28. This year customers helped to raise $470,514 through the annual in-store campaign.
Additionally, on July 21 Giant hosted its Our Kids golf outing, in which 1,700 associates and vendors took part at 12 golf courses in Pennsylvania. Proceeds from this year's event came to $1.28 million
Since the outing's official inception in 1988, Giant and Martin's have raised $17 million through Our Kids events for CMN, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for 170 North American children's hospitals.
Giant Food operates stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the Giant Food Stores, Martin's Food Markets, and FoodSource banners.
