Giant Carlisle Meal Kits Roll Out to More Stores
Giant Food Stores has launched its fresh meal kit program in 12 stores in greater Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley. Each kit contains pre-measured fresh ingredients to make two servings of a meal, along with step-by-step instructions. The kits will be carried in the produce, meat or deli sections.
“Our customers are busy, and these new fresh meal kits are another innovative way we are helping them to save time and eat well by getting a delicious and convenient home-cooked meal on the table,” said Erik Keptner, SVP of sales, merchandising and marketing at Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant/Martin’s.
The kits enable customers to make a meal in 35 minutes or less, and come in a variety of options, including pan-seared chicken breast, mini Italian-style meatloaf and peppercorn steak, among others.
The price of one kit, which serves two people, is $14.99, while two kits serving four people go for $24.99. As well as purchasing the kits at the 12 Giant stores, customers in greater Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley can have them delivered via Giant/Martin's sister company Peapod.
A division of Ahold USA, Giant/Martin’s operates almost 200 grocery stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, under the Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets banners, employing more than 33,000 associates.
The kits originally rolled out last December at two stores in Camp Hill and Hampden Township, Pa.
