Giant-Carlisle Names District Director of Operations, Merchandising

Giant Food Stores, LLC has promoted Chuck Shank to the position of director of operations and merchandising for the retailer’s District 2, which includes stores in southern Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. In his new role, Shank oversees the overall operations, merchandising and customer satisfaction of 11 stores. His most recent position was grocery market manager.

An employee with Giant since 1969, Shank has held many positions in the area of store operations, among them lead frozen food associate, grocery manager, assistant store manager, store manager, general merchandise and health & beauty care specialist, as well as grocery specialist. He also received the grocer’s Nick Riso Outstanding Achievement Award in 2002.

Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant Food Stores, LLC operates stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the Giant Food Stores, Martin’s Food Markets and Giant To Go banners.
