Giant Landover Lowers Prices on 1,500+ Items
Giant Food, LLC has lowered prices on more than 1,500 key staple items throughout its stores as part of an ongoing commitment to price reductions. The lower prices are identified by blue tags on products in the fresh, nonperishable, and health and beauty care departments, while “Low Everyday Price” signage and the weekly circular also spotlight savings.
“With lower prices on more than 1,500 additional items, we continue to provide great value to our customers every day,” said Gordon Reid, president of Landover, Md.-based Giant Food. “As an example, Giant is lowering the price of one of our most popular items, rotisserie chickens, from $5.99 to $4.99 every day.”
The banner last rolled out chain-wide price cuts in October 2015.
As part of the company’s continuing strategy to help shoppers save, Giant produce and bakery departments have been overhauled to feature more local, fresh offerings; better pricing; and improved quality, as evidenced by Giant’s recent partnership with BrightFarms Capitol Greenhouse, in Culpeper County, Va.
Owned by Ahold USA, Giant Food operates 169 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia, employing about 20,000 associates.
