GMA, PwC Release Sustainability-themed Video Clip
The Grocery Manufacturers Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers' Retail and Consumer practice have released "Sustainability Matters to All Stakeholders," a four-minute video clip consisting of "man-on-the-street" interviews exploring consumer attitudes toward green power, green products and processes, and perceptions on sustainable companies.
The interviews were conducted in such cities as Amsterdam; Austin, Texas; Beijing; Mumbai; and New York.
The clip complements the entities' recently released study on the state of the consumer food, beverage, and packaged goods industry, "The 2008 Food Beverage and Consumer Products Industry Report: Achieving Superior Financial Performance in a Challenging Economy." According to the report, sustainability is evolved a business imperative capable of boosting corporate value.
Such findings are borne out by consumer comments such as "It's consumer sovereignty. It's voting with my dollars, and I will absolutely support the people doing what I believe is the right thing," and "The big companies have to start with making changes, and then we follow."
