Grocerant Summit 2016: Mission is Critical
While shopper experience is the grocery industry’s rallying cry, it’s not the only element of a successful fresh-prepared food – or grocerant – program.
With a theme of “Building the Grocerant Experience,” Progressive Grocer’s second annual Grocerant Summit will address the key elements of winning programs: supporting the banner’s mission and the staff experience, as well as the shopper experience.
Grocerant Summit takes place Oct. 25-26, 2016, at the Schaumburg Convention Center in suburban Chicago. This invitation-only event is designed for grocery retailers looking to build a unique, successful fresh-prepared food program. The event is designed by retail and CPG leaders committed to a better grocery retail marketplace.
The concept of creating a shopper experience that delights is a key element of grocery retailing overall, but it’s heightened in the grocerant space because of the element of hospitality that staffers need to deliver. Successful grocerants offer excellent food that is well merchandised and served with a smile in a well-designed space. Altogether, it’s a “wow” experience for the shopper. But it also has to be a positive experience for the store staff, complete with an efficient and ergonomically sound space and the tools they need to deliver hospitable and excellent service. These elements support the mission and vision of the retail banner. When these elements come together, shoppers and store associates are more loyal to the banner, which ensures success store-wide.
Retailer attendees to Grocerant Summit will learn:
- How to adapt to the grocerant business model
- How the store’s mission and shoppers guide the best menu options for stores
- Key design elements that support store staff and delight shoppers
- How retailers can use signage and messaging to compete with traditional foodservice
- And much more!
