H-E-B Taps Instacart for Delivery Service in Texas
H-E-B is the latest retailer to forge a partnership with Instacart, through which customers in the Austin and Houston areas of Texas can have their groceries delivered in as little as one hour after ordering online.
“Don't have time to come to H-E-B? No problem. We'll bring H-E-B to you,” said Scott McClelland, president of H-E-B Houston Division. The ability to deliver on-demand clearly matches our focus of making our customers’ lives better, he added.
Instacart recently announced that it has expanded its Houston delivery area into the Katy and Woodlands areas. In addition to H-E-B, Houston-area customers will have access to Whole Foods Market, Costco (no membership required) and Petco. Instacart’s personal shoppers hand pick and deliver grocery items from these local stores.
Originally launched in San Francisco, and since expanded into many other cities, Instacart eliminates the need for costly infrastructure such as inventory, warehouses and trucks.
