Hannaford Honors Top Store Manager

Michael Rondenelli, manager of the Herkimer, N.Y., Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy, has been named the grocer’s 2015 top store manager across its five-state footprint.

Scarborough, Maine-based Hannaford Supermarkets, a Delhaize America banner, recently honored Rondenelli as the Ronald C. Hodge Retailer of the Year. He was chosen to receive the distinction from among 188 store managers in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. The annual award recognizes superior leadership, customer service, support for associates, communication and store performance.

The award is named for Ronald C. Hodge, a retired Hannaford president and CEO.

“Mike’s leadership in 2015 was tireless, caring, inspiring and genuine,” said Hannaford Director of Operations Andy Willette, who nominated Rondenelli.  “His passion for people is always there, and it shows in his store.” Willette cited the store manager’s commitment and effectiveness in supporting charities and espousing local causes.

“He is always willing to stop and connect with any individual or organization,” added Willette. “He regularly leaves a positive impact with customers because of his communication and follow-through.  As a result, he has built quite a reputation in the community.”
