HealthSMART has developed a special brew specifically for people who suffer from acid reflux disease, esophagitis, heartburn or simply sensitive stomachs. The low acid, additive-free organic coffee is made from USDA certified-organic Fair Trade Arabica beans with the Henderson, Nev.-based company’s proprietary, FDA-approved GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) TechnoRoasting process. As a result, never-bitter HealthSMART contains dietary fiber, levels of B vitamins and minerals that exceed the daily value established by the FDA, and more antioxidants than cocoa, black tea, green tea or red wine. A 12-ounce can retails for $17.95, which translates to just 13 cents per serving, as each can yields 136 cups, notes HealthSMART, adding that other gourmet and organic coffees can cost consumers between 23 and 64 cents per cup.
