Hill Top Market Deploys Digital Circular Solution
Single-store independent Hill Top Market, Syracuse, N.Y., has deployed the Circularz module from Statesville, N.C.-based CashKlick, in an effort to electronically distribute its regular promotions across a variety of digital platforms.
“I know my customers like to get their information different ways, such as email, Facebook, our website, and their phones,” says Lisa Piron, who co-owns the store with her husband. “Circularz let us communicate with them the way they want to be communicated with. The more channels we can use to communicate the better and Cashklick takes our marketing to a whole new level in meeting our customers where they are.”
The Circularz web application allows retailers and brands to create, publish and track promotional sales flyers digitally. Retailers can setup geographical areas and track price points or other promotion data for future analysis. There are several service levels available, and retailers pay a monthly subscription fee to use the system. Cashklick can also design the Circularz website or social media pages as well as offer hosting for clients.
“Circularz will transform the way retailers approach the traditional printed circular,” said Sharon Wahrmund, VP of product and operations for Cashklick. “Retailers can organize sales promotions and publish them through multiple electronic channels, including the web, Facebook, e-mail and onto shoppers’ smartphones. The real turning point is that retailers can target specific consumers and consumers can choose preferences. With this option, everyone’s digital circular is unique to them based on either what they purchase or preference settings.”
Prior to working with Cashklick, Piron’s digital marketing consisted of sending out a weekly e-mail with a JPEG image of the store’s weekly ad. “It was low resolution and hard to read,” Piron told Progressive Grocer. “I've notified everyone on our e-mail list about the new Facebook page and our numbers of (Facebook) visitors keep going up."
Cashklick offers shopper marketing and promotion technology for retailers and brands as well as web- and mobile-based digital circulars, shopper planning, loyalty and sweepstakes applications for consumers. In addition to Circularz, its Zsuite of products includes Sweepz, a contest platform which Piron plans to implement in the future, and Rewardz, its loyalty program.
Mix and Match
“I also like the fact that you can pick and choose the parts of Z-Suite that you need,” added Piron. “We definitely want to start a customer loyalty program someday and I can see Rewardz helping us with that. If we want to do a sweepstakes, I’m sure Sweepz will make it easy for us to do one. Some of the other pieces such as tracking and couponing might not be right for a small retailer like us, but I think it’s great that all the programs in the Z-Suite are scalable for businesses large and small.”
