Homeland Stores Adopts Food Safety Compliance Management Solution
Homeland Stores, a division of HAC Retail, is enhancing the management of regulatory and business documentation within their supply chain by adopting a technology solution that provides compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act.
The Edmond, Okla.-based operator of 85 stores in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Alabama and Georgia deployed ReposiTrak, a provider of compliance management and track-and-trace solutions for food safety.
“Our objective at Homeland is to provide the safest food for our customers,” noted Debbie Brown, CFO. “With the Food Safety Modernization Act finalization beginning this month, we were looking for an automated system that would enable us to better manage our growing list of compliance documentation.”
Powered by technology from Park City Group, the platform helps manage regulatory, financial and brand risk associated with issues of safety in the global food, pharma and dietary supply chains. The platform consists of two systems:
- Compliance Management, which not only receives, stores and shares documentation, but also manages compliance through dashboards and alerts for missing or expired documents
- Track & Trace, which quickly identifies product ingredients and their supply chain path in the unfortunate event of a product recall. It can reduce the risk in the supply chain by identifying backward chaining sources and forward chaining recipients of products in near real time.
