Hormel Foods Building New Packaging Facility
Hormel Foods Corp. broke ground last week on a new production facility in Dubuque, Iowa. The manufacturer will operate Progressive Packaging, LLC as a wholly owned subsidiary. The total cost of the project is projected to be $89 million.

The 327,000-square-foot plant is expected to be up and running by November 2009. Initially, 180 new jobs will be created, with more expected in future phases, according to Hormel.
Austin, Minn.-based Hormel is a multinational manufacturer and marketer of consumer-branded food and meat products.
