Hy-Vee to Feature Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp
Midwestern grocery retailer Hy-Vee Inc. is partnering with the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition to offer several varieties of Gulf Coast shrimp at select supermarkets in the Quad Cities region of Iowa and Illinois.
"We are excited to partner with Hy-Vee again. We partnered with the iconic supermarket three years ago and it was the first time its shoppers were able to enjoy wild-caught Gulf Coast shrimp," said Joanne Zartisky, marketing director, Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition. "After promoting Gulf seafood in more than 15 retail partners across the country, we are happy to return to Hy-Vee with delicious Gulf Coast shrimp, recipe demonstrations and samples for its customers."
Through March 17, 12 participating Quad Cities and Clinton, Ill., stores will offer wild-caught Gulf Coast shrimp varieties including Natural Wild Gulf EZ Peel Shrimp, Wild U.S.A. Gulf EZ Peel Shrimp, Wild U.S.A. Gulf Shrimp, Paul Piazza Wild Gulf Shrimp Peeled, and Deveined Wild Gulf Shrimp and Paul Piazza Wild Gulf Shrimp. Customers will find products identified with freezer case signs.
The Gulf shrimp selections can be found at six Iowa stores - five in Davenport and one in Bettendorf - and six in Illinois - two in Moline and one each in Milan, Rock Island, Silvis and Clinton.
Considered a valuable seafood and a favored species, Gulf Coast shrimp offer a fresh flavor and claim a variety of health benefits, including a source of protein and vitamins D, B12, selenium, iron and zinc.
