Instacart, Allrecipes Team Up to Deliver Meal Ingredients to Home Cooks
Instacart is partnering with Allrecipes, the food-focused social network, to deliver fresh ingredients from the latter’s highest rated recipes on-demand. Home cooks can add all the necessary ingredients for their favorite meals and have them delivered in as little as one hour.
Vishwa Chandra, Instacart’s VP of retail accounts, said, “This partnership will allow people to search and pull up their favorite recipes on their devices and have everything needed to make that meal delivered to their doorstep on-demand. This is how great digital experiences make lives easier.”
He said the partnership allows brands to offer a new level of shopping speed and convenience to Instacart’s communities of shoppers. As part of the integration, Allrecipes’ teams developed proprietary pairing algorithms that match wine, packaged sides, cleaning products, etc., to recipes, expanding the range of products shoppers can order.
Allrecipes reaches 40 million home cooks monthly, with 1.3 billion visits per year, across 24 countries in 13 languages. Allrecipes aims to help home cooks connect with each other and give them the tools to make their cooking journey easier.
Corbin de Rubertis of Allrecipes said, “We are facilitating the delivery of fresh ingredients from local stores to our customers' doorsteps so they can solve the dinner dilemma and put healthy meals on their table without the hassle.”
The service is available in the 18 metropolitan areas that Instacart services.
