Instacart Grows Reach in Charlotte, Atlanta
San Francisco-based grocery delivery service Instacart has expanded the territories it serves by adding partnerships in both Charlotte, N.C., and Atlanta.
In Charlotte, Instacart is working with Publix to deliver its groceries, marking its second collaboration with the Lakeland, Fla.-based grocer after beginning service in the Miami area. Additionally, the delivery service “decided to answer the call of hundreds of customers” and moved into six new Charlotte ZIP codes – 28226, 28212, 28277, 28270, 28217 and 28134 – allowing customers in these areas to order from such grocers as Publix, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Whole Foods, Costco, Harris Teeter and Food Lion.
"Food Lion is extremely pleased with the speedy delivery service Instacart has consistently offered our customers since its launch in May," said Keith Nicks, VP of customer engagement at Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion. "As we work to expand our home delivery footprint, we're excited more of our customers will be able to enjoy the convenience of fresh and affordable groceries at their doorstep."
In Atlanta, one of Instacart’s fastest-growing markets, the service is expanding its work with Publix and soon will enter a new partnership with Lyndhurst, N.J.-based Asian grocer H Mart. With Publix, Instacart will drive “a much better experience” with “a larger and more accurate selection online,” and with H Mart, it will bring “top-selling, high-quality ingredients … including its extensive selection of ready-to-eat items such as curries and kimchi.”
