Jewel-Osco Teams With Coca-Cola For Black History Promo
As part of Jewel-Osco's "A Taste of Black History" campaign, the promotions will be held every Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the monthlong celebration, consumers will be able to enjoy and familiarize themselves with more than 25 of Jewel-Osco's African-American vendors, by sampling dishes prepared with their products. Consumers will also have an opportunity to enter the "Cookin' Combos" sweepstakes at participating stores to win a year of free groceries worth a total of $5,000.
"We are proud of our African-American vendors," said La Toya Dixon, community relations manager for Supervalu's market-leading Chicago subsidiary. "They work tirelessly to provide great products for our customers, and this program highlights their achievements."
Coca-Cola has partnered with Jewel-Osco -- which operates 186 stores in Illinois, Iowa and Indiana -- for the past five years to celebrate the achievements of African-Americans during Black History Month, said Anthony Taylor, Coca-Cola's community relations manager. "We encourage the community to visit Jewel-Osco stores to learn about the African-American entrepreneurs here in Illinois."
