King Quorn
U.K. meatless protein brand Quorn’s latest item is the Turk’y Burger, which offers just 90 calories per serving and half the fat of a comparable turkey product. Additionally, the patty can be grilled, microwaved or cooked on top of the stove. The versatile Quorn line of 12 frozen selections features mycoprotein, a “powerhouse ingredient” containing less fat, fewer calories and more fiber than meat, as well as providing a superior taste and texture to soy, textured vegetable protein or wheat gluten meat alternatives, according to Stokesley, North Yorkshire-based Marlow Foods, Ltd., which manufactures Quorn. A 9.9-ounce box of four Turk’y Burgers retail for a suggested $4.49 to $5.49. To learn more, visit www.quorn.com.
