Kings Gets Full Carvel Ice Cream Line
Kings Super Markets bakery sections now feature the Carvel brand's full line of ice cream cakes, Flying Saucer Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Slice'mmms ice cream rolls.
The stores will carry such items as the 60- to 106-fluid-ounce Celebration round and sheet cakes; M&M'S and SNICKERS cakes; 48-fluid-ounce Holiday in such shapes as pumpkins, turkeys, snowmen, and the Easter Bunny; Slice'mmms 32-fluid-ounce ice cream rolls in such flavors as Traditional, Cinnabon; and the Flying Saucer Ice Cream Sandwich, which Carvel has offered for over 50 years.
The United States' first retail ice cream franchise, Atlanta-based Carvel Corp. operates about 570 franchised and foodservice locations, and offers its ice cream cakes in over 9,000 supermarket outlets. Rocky Hill, Conn.-based Celebration Foods is the frozen dessert manufacturer and distributor joining with Kings to offer the products.
Parsippany, N.J.-based Kings operates 26 Gourmet Super Markets in northern New Jersey and Long Island, New York.
