Kraft Publishes its First Branded E-Book
Kraft Foods and skyrockit, a full service mobile entertainment agency, have joined together to produce Kraft Foods' first eBook. "Spread a Little Joy," which is available in Apple's AppStore and at Amazon.com for $9.99.
The eBook contains a compilation of 70 recipes featuring Kraft Foods' Philadelphia cream cheese, including appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts.
"We know our consumers are constantly on the lookout for new food ideas, and we thought a cookbook would be the perfect way to demonstrate how delicious and versatile Philly can be as a rich and creamy cooking ingredient," said Adam Butler, brand manager of Philadelphia cream cheese, Kraft Foods. "skyrockit's team understood our goals and was able to bring this unique branded mobile experience to life very easily through their intuitive platform."
The launch marks the first branded eBook built on skyrockit's turnkey platform solution. skyrockit enables rapid conversion of multiple digital file formats into eBooks in as little as one to two weeks, and has plans to further enhance the eBook experience by implementing additional interactive features including exclusive content and social media.
"We are at a fascinating juncture in advertising where brands can now cost effectively create their own media properties and offer them directly to end consumers," said Jon Vlassopulos, CEO, skyrockit. "We are focused on facilitating this change and are delighted to be working with Kraft Foods on this exciting new mobile initiative, and to have them as our first eBook partner."
Kraft Foods isn’t new to the mobile space. Last fall introduced a premium branded iFood Assistant app, and the success of the app changed the perception that brands can only succeed with free mobile content. The iFood Assistant was then followed by Big Fork Little Fork, Kraft Foods' first iPad app.
