Kroger Central Div. Offers Free Health Screenings
As an extra service to local communities during the challenging economic climate, Kroger’s Indianopolis-based Central Division is offering free health screenings at 31 of its 153 Central division stores under the supervision of Kroger pharmacists.
Launched earlier this week in regional Kroger, Pay Less, Owens, Hilander and Scott’s banner stores, the screenings include lipid panel cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes and body mass tests. The normal retail value for these free tests exceeds $40 and the cost is shared by Kroger’s vendor partners in some locations. Screenings will be conducted by pharmacists or other qualified health professionals.
Greg Fox, Central Division pharmacy manager said, “Heart disease is one of the most prominent illnesses affecting our country today. By offering these screenings, we hope to raise awareness and provide both customer and associate education of heart disease and the importance of regular health screenings. We realize that many of our customers are facing difficult spending choices during this challenging economy. Their health is extremely important to us, so we have taken the financial choice away by making these tests free to both customers and associates.”
Kroger’s Central Division has 153 food stores, 130 pharmacies and 53 fuel centers operating under five banners; Kroger, Scott’s, Owen’s, Hilander and Pay Less, with locations primarily in Indiana and Illinois, in addition to five stores in Missouri, one in Michigan and one in Ohio.
