Kroger's Dillon Earns Distinguished Eagle Scout Award

The Kroger Co.’s chairman and CEO, David B. Dillon, has been awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award upon nomination by the Dan Beard Council and the Boy Scouts of America.

The award is granted to Eagle Scouts who, after 25 years, have distinguished themselves in their life work and who have shared their talents with their communities on a voluntary basis.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this recognition,” said Dillon. “Scouting has meant a great deal in my life. It teaches us how to be better leaders and how to be good followers – both of which are necessary skills to be successful in almost any endeavor. I am grateful to the Boy Scouts of America for helping to set a tremendous foundation in my life and for helping so many young men across America do the same.”

The Distinguished Eagle Scout Award was established in 1969, and since that time more than 1,850 nominations have been approved. Only the local council of the Eagle Scout’s primary residence may nominate.
