Lowes Foods Bows New Store, Fresh Rewards Shopper Loyalty Program
A spacious produce department with a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and a full-service floral shop is among the highlights of the latest addition to Lowes Foods’ family of supermarkets in Wesley Chapel, N.C. The opening of the 50,000-square-foot store coincides with the launch of the 112-store, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based regional retailer’s new “fresh rewards” shopper loyalty program that enables shoppers to earn loyalty reward points on all eligible purchases every time they shop, alongside a wide variety of promotional offerings that will allow rewards points to be earned at an even faster rate.
Each time that a customer earns $5 in fresh rewards, he or she will receive a “fresh rewards cash” coupon that can be used toward his or her next purchase. There’s no limit to the number of fresh rewards cash coupons that can be earned, and customers can redeem as many as they would like on a single trip.
“Our customers have told us that they want to be rewarded for their loyalty to Lowes Foods in a way that saves them time and money,” said Steve Hall, president of Lowes Foods. “Coupons good for cash off their next order allow them to save money on what is important to them.”
All current Lowes Foods customers with a rewards card will be automatically pre-enrolled in the program, which got underway Oct. 7. New-card enrollment is also available via in-store touchscreen kiosk or with an even easier online option from home. Additionally, customers can choose to select areas that interest them for future customized offers, including pets, gourmet, and global cuisine and wine.
As Lowes Foods transitions to fresh rewards, it’s retiring the Greenpoints program. Any Greenpoints that customers have in their accounts will be good for two years and can be redeemed for a large assortment of products and gift cards online at greenpoints.com. Greenpoints can also still be earned by shopping online with a variety of well-known merchants.
As for highlights of its newest store, Choice American beef is the centerpiece for the meat department, with a complement of fresh, natural Tanglewood chicken, easy to prepare meal solutions, and a wide selection of wild Alaskan seafood.
The deli department showcases an expanded range of specialty cheeses to pair up with an array of domestic and imported wines. A large antipasto bar, which includes several new bruschetta spreads, complements a large self-service salad bar, made-to-order sandwiches and Boar’s Head meats and cheeses.
The in-store bakery also features whole grain and artisan breads, along with signature baked goods like Double-Decker brownies filled with peanut butter, caramel or cream cheese. Customers will also enjoy a freshly made “dessert for two” option that allows them to enjoy their favorite treats without having to purchase an entire cake.
Lowes Foods operates stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
