Lucky Teams With Shell for Fuel Rewards

Lucky Supermarkets customers who shop at any of the grocery chain's stores in the greater Bay Area of California will be able to use their Lucky Rewards Cards to earn discounts on fuel purchases at participating Shell gas stations starting Aug. 22. The discount program is part of Excentus’ Fuel Rewards Network.

“Providing additional value is always our priority and with our Lucky Rewards Card, shoppers are in control of their overall fuel savings,” said Frank Capps, chief sales officer at Modesto, Calif.-based Lucky Supermarkets.

For every $50 spent on qualified purchases at Lucky Supermarkets using the Lucky Rewards Card, customers will receive a 5-cents-per-gallon discount on fuel that can be redeemed on a single fill-up of up to 20 gallons. Purchases are tracked automatically, meaning that customers do not have to spend $50 in one visit, and are cumulative. If customers spend $100, they earn a 10-cent-per-gallon discount; if they spend $150, they earn a 15-cents-per-gallon discount, and so on.

“With conveniently located participating Shell stations throughout the area, it has never been easier for consumers to save on Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines, including our premium gasoline, Shell V-Power,” said Dan Little, fuels marketing manager at Houston-based Shell North America.

Lucky Customers who earn the fuel discounts can redeem them at approximately 190 participating Shell stations in the area, according to the announcement. They can also earn Fuel Rewards savings at the Fuel Rewards Network Online Mall at www.fuelrewards.com.

“Lucky Supermarkets has been a great business partner for us,” said Brandon Logsdon, president and chief operating officer at Dallas-based Excentus. “We are confident that bringing them together with Shell will be a success.”

To redeem their discounts, customers only need to insert their Lucky Rewards Cards at the pump. Fuel Rewards savings expire on the last day of the month immediately following the month they were earned, said the company.
